Art is one of those subjects that can not only fulfill the soul in the classroom, but also serve the community in a similar way. The following images are snapshots from different community shows or volunteer experiences I have done with students.

World Toilet Day Contest Winners: October 2022 and 2023:

My students at Perrysburg High School and at Ottawa Hills School painted toilets to be sold, raising funds for clean water aid across the world.

Art for HeART: Spring 2018

I created Art for HeART for refugee kids seeking community involvement and acceptance. In collaboration with AARK, a local non-profit, I hosted and taught an after-school art program for Syrian refugee children that lasted 6 weeks. Our safe space allowed for self-expression, compassion, and interpersonal awareness. Everyone involved, refugee children, student volunteers, and parents, came out of the experience with new friendships and new perspectives.

Bittersweet Farms: Art Festival 2019

Art students from Saint Ursula and I worked together to create a curriculum to teach teens and young adults with autism how to create and sell their own art at festivals during the summer. Our goal was to increase independence and executive functioning skills.
